386 million dirhams to enhance cooperation between the UAE and Romania

Emirati-Romanian Business Council Conference was held under the chairmanship of Sheikh Hamdan bin Khalifa bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Honorary President of the Romanian-Emirati Business Council, and the participation of Sebastian Bordoga, Minister of Innovation, Research and Digitization of Romania.

To discuss enhancing the horizons of cooperation and exploring more opportunities and partnerships that serve the development goals and visions in the sectors of interest to both countries.

The Emirati-Romanian Business Council Conference was attended by Sheikha Dr. Hind Abdulaziz Al Qasimi, Founder and President of the International Emirates Business Club, Sheikh Ahmed bin Abdul Rahman Al Mulla, and Hamid Hassan Al Shamsi, Director of Customer Happiness Department, at the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the UAE, and Senator Cyprian Banta, Researcher of the Romanian Senate and Deputy Marius Margrint of the House of Representatives.

Enhancing cooperation in the fields of industry, real estate and technology The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing cooperation in the fields of sustainable industrial development, real estate investment and advanced technology. Sheikh Hamdan bin Khalifa pointed out the start of pumping investments worth 100 million euros (386.45 million dirhams) to enhance bilateral cooperation in a number of vital sectors, and benefit from the promising investment opportunities.

He said: “The conference is the beginning of the growth of relations between the UAE and Romania, and the building of a new stage of political, trade and economic relations and diversifying the paths of cooperation and achieving qualitative leaps in investment exchange, tourism and digital transformation between the two friendly countries.”

Sheikh Hamdan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan expressed his happiness in turning his dream of extending the bonds of cooperation between the two countries into reality, explaining that the vision and guidance of the wise leadership of the UAE has been and still is extending the hand of partnership and international cooperation to create a bright future for all. The keenness to push the joint cooperative relations to wider horizons that support the expansion of new areas of work, especially in light of the existence of large investment and trade opportunities, to support the sustainable development of the economies of the countries.

Digital transformation in the UAE… A pioneering and inspiring experience The Romanian Minister of Innovation, Research and Digitization confirmed that the UAE’s experience of digital transformation is one of the most important and inspiring initiatives in the world in terms of developing the digital services system and the communications infrastructure, pointing out that it achieved a 100% digital transformation for all government services and enhanced the electronic lifestyle in all sectors and provided sustainable solutions with high efficiency and quality in performance.

Sheikha Dr. Hind Abdulaziz Al Qasimi called on Emirati businessmen to benefit from the investment opportunities and Romanian expertise in the economic and tourism sectors and business opportunities, stressing the UAE’s keenness to create a supportive environment for the various partnerships with Romania as a strategic partner for its country in Eastern Europe, and directed to organize a visit to Bucharest, the capital of Romania, which includes a number of men and women of business in the UAE to discuss the available opportunities, and develop a joint work plan to coordinate business, exchange experiences and encourage investments in the sectors with competitive advantage in both the UAE and Romania.

Hamid Hassan Al Shamsi said, “The UAE attaches great importance to achieving the happiness of individuals and society, and considers cooperation with Romania the beginning of the road to establish a long-term strategic partnership to support the sectors aimed at enhancing the happiness of societies and achieving economic and social growth among peoples.”

The head of the Romanian Tourism Authority invited the attendees to visit Romania, confirming that his country is ready to receive about 6 million tourists from the UAE, and that he is preparing various entertainment programs for charming tourist places in Romania to build fruitful partnerships in various tourism fields that support stimulating growth and prosperity between the UAE and Romania.

The conference was crowned by signing two agreements of joint economic and industrial cooperation between Dr. Kamal Al Bajouri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ajyad for Consulting, Real Estate Investment and Business, the strategic arm of the Office of Sheikh Hamdan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, and Sir Stefan Fozza, CEO of Chimcomplex, the strategic company for the Romanian economy and the producer and supplier of vital chemicals in Eastern Europe.

The agreements included the establishment of a chemical plant to produce more than one million tons of polyurethane products, which include “adhesives, coatings, flexible and rigid foams for mass and casting” with an operational value equivalent to one million euros on the land of the UAE”
